Alverca is showing the world its new facilities, with Pedro Alves, the club's sports director, giving a tour of the team's new home, including the locker room and training field, after paying tribute to Alex Apolinário. The Alverca symbol is spread across several walls, but one of them, at the entrance to the home team's locker room, catches the eye for another reason. «Alex eterno», can be read in a short message, which accompanies a large image of the late Alex Apolinário. The former player, who scored a goal that eliminated Sporting from the Portuguese Cup, died on January 7, 2021, after collapsing on the field during a match between Alverca and União de Almeirim, for the Portuguese Championship. Pedro Alves says that «It's a tribute we made to Alexinho, who ends up being eternal. And we need more images, this one ends up being one of sadness, we hope that now images of happiness will come». The conversation continued in the corridor that connects the main support rooms for the team, where there are so many Alverca symbols everywhere that we easily lose count. While speaking to the press, Pedro Alves brought in employees to talk, including Mr. Nunes, Alverca's kit man for 14 years. Mr. Nunes says that «I wasn't born in Alverca, but my life has been all about this place. We like to defend our colors and our club. Whoever comes is always welcome, they're part of our family». Pedro Alves says that then we'll talk to «the most important person at Alverca, after Mr. Nunes, who is Mr. Trinca». Vinícius Trinca, who played for Alverca in the district championships in 2017/18 and then «followed the entire change» of the emblem, says that «First, Pedro spoke badly, I'm the father of the players». Pedro Alves explains that «We have a field, with the help of the City Council, they gave us a plot of land next to the training center where we're building our training center». The final lesson is given by Pedro, with the smile that doesn't leave him, quoting Mr. Nunes: «This has to be the biggest club in Portugal, as Mr. Nunes says. The Ribatejo is very small and we have to be the biggest in Portugal». Alverca is working hard to improve its facilities and teams, with the goal of becoming one of the country's top clubs. With the new generation of players and the experience of the veterans, Alverca is ready to face the challenges of the next season. The club is counting on the support of its fans and the community to achieve its goals. Alverca's new facilities are a testament to the club's commitment to its players and fans. The team is looking forward to a successful season, with the support of its loyal fans.
