The Leonino coach said that the winger is a player with a technical quality above the average, very fast and explosive. "He comes mature, prepared and with a lot of hunger to win", said Fernandes about Chiquinho. The Leonino coach also praised the European campaign of Sporting, which was categorical. "Sportingly, ending without titles was not positive, but the campaign in the Champions was categorical and asserted the club in Europe", said Fernandes. The Leonino coach also addressed the transition phase in Sporting after the departure of Ruben Amorim and defended the need for adjustments in the team. "The cycles last two to three years and the team needs adjustments to give internal competition and alternatives at the level for men like Trincão, Pote, Suárez, Hjulmand or Morita", said Fernandes. Chiquinho, valued at 5 million euros, was linked to Sporting for 10 seasons, between 2009 and 2019. This season, the player scored two goals and four assists for Alverca (1,495 minutes).
